A few times a year, I like to get involved in philanthropic projects that are in need of design work. Not only is it a new project with a new challenge, but it also allows me to give back with the gifts I have been given,
A few months ago, I was approached by Natalia, Coretta and Jackie about their new non-profit organization, 3 Moms Inspiring (3MI). The ladies were in need of a logo and website in time for their first event they were putting together.
For the 3MI logo, the were many components that the ladies wanted to have accounted for. Luckily, they provided an inspiration board they put together with all different items that were meaningful to them.
Some of the components of the logo they wanted to included were 8 inspirational words. They chose the number 8 based on the day the ladies all met. Since all the ladies loves florals, I decided to create a flower as their main symbol. However, rather than just create regular petals, I used a heart shape to create 3 petals--one representing each woman. Since I wanted the logo to look like a seal, I added to circles to create a border; it also helped showcase the inspiration words the ladies provided me.
For the colors, since this organization founded by mothers to help inspiring others, I asked the ladies to send me their ideas for the colors. My favorite combination were this bright, yet soft, green, pink, orange, yellow and cream.
When it came time to create their website, the same elements were all incorporated. The colors were bright, the logo was large and filling the space and inspiration was popping out at you room every angle. One of the coolest features we added was the "Events" tab, and you could add the event to your calendar with just one click. Each woman also had their own individual blog where you could follow each of their journeys. Their site also has a mobile friendly version; who doesn't love that?
With all of these elements now complete, I have no doubt these inspiration mothers will meet every goal they set out to achieve. As they'd always tell me, if they only make a difference for one person, then they will have left this world a better place.
Coretta, Jackie, Natalia: You ladies are beyond exceptional. I can't thank you enough for allowing me to help you make your dreams a reality. Love you all!
